Lent Study by Pastor McClain
Sunday, March 10, 2019
During Lent Pastor McClain will begin a series of sermons, based on the book study, The Art of Neighboring: Building Genuine Relationships Right Outside Your Door by Jay Patrick & Dave Runyon.
Pastor McClain encourages all church members to purchase the book and study along. There will be sign up sheets in the Gathering Place if you are interested in joining a group or if you want to start a group please contact the office or add your list in the Gathering Place on Sunday.g with him and the church staff. Purchase on-line at Christianbooks.com.
"This year for Lent I want to focus on building bridges and developing leaders. We have talked on several occasions on how we can meet new people, build relationships and share with them the life changing message of grace. Yet many of us do not know our close neighbors. Loving our neighbors has become something abstract or theoretical. Do you know the names of the people who live around you? your physical neighbors?
Each Sunday of Lent I will share insights and challenges from “The Art of Neighboring, Building Genuine Relationships Right Outside Your Door” by Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon. You can order it or there are a few copies in the office. I invite you to form a small group or invite your existing group to work through the book with me. Like losing weight, it is good to make lists, read books or listen to motivational talks but when you actually exercise is when you make the most progress."
