July Mission Focus - Border Ministry

Border Ministry is a group of Methodist Churches in the San Antonio area which focuses on the spiritual and physical needs of our brothers & sisters in Piedras Negras, Mexico.

We seek to “come along side” our Christian brothers/sisters at two orphanages and two Methodist Churches in Piedras Negras.

*House of Mercy Orphanage is home for approximately 25 children from 3 –16 yrs old

*Casa Bethesda Orphanage is the loving home for approximately 25 “children”
(who live with profound disabilities)

Methodist Churches:

*Templo Aleluya has a lunch program at the church that includes praise service, Bible Study, lunch
(often a child’s only full meal of the day)

*Rey de Reyes Iglesia feeds, shares prayers, and teaches the Gospel with 50+ migrants (men, women, and
children) stuck in Piedras Negras at the border. We help pay monthly rent for one of those locations and
provide a “ Mini-Vacation Bible School ” bimonthly for 50-130 kids.

Last year Windcrest UMC donated $1000 to Border Ministry. It was used to help provide $10 Christmas gifts to 600+ children in 6 or 7 Methodist Churches.

100% of all Border Ministry funds go to the folks in Mexico !

If you feel called to help, write a check to Windcrest UMC and mark it Border Ministry.
