If you are in 3rd grade or older, you are encouraged to participate in this important ministry. Acolytes carry the light into the Sanctuary at the beginning of each worship service, help the pastor with Holy Communion and carry the light out into the world at the end of service. This is an exciting way for children to learn the order of worship and to be an important member of the worship team. Acolyte Academy is held twice a year and as needed..

Vacation Bible School is an event of fun involving Bible stories, lessons, recreation, snacks, crafts, music, and more for children age 4 and up. We offer this to the surrounding community at no cost because we believe it is an important outreach ministry helping to make young disciples of Jesus Christ.

Parents of third graders: An email will be mailed out to all third-grade parents. Bibles are presented at the beginning of the new school year during worship services. Please let the church office know if your child is in 3^rd grade and you have not yet received information about third grade bible presentations. 

It is a tradition at Windcrest UMC for the children to do a Christmas pageant each year. Sometimes it’s traditional with Christmas Carols and sometimes a lively, upbeat production. Regardless- everyone is blessed by the event and each year’s performance is the best one ever!

Each year, the Children & Youth  Ministries team looks for new and innovative ways to fill the needs of young children and their parents. This year is no exception. Some of our annual programs: Shrove Tuesday Celebration, Children’s Palm Processional, Family Easter Events, Sundae Sunday, Back Pack Blessings, Third Grade Bible Presentation, Children’s Sabbath, Pumpkin Patch, Christmas Angel Breakfast (4-year-olds only!) Advent Workshop, Hanging of the Chrismons, Trunk-or-treat and so much more!
